Importance of Panchgavya

Panchgavya is prepared using five cow based produces – Milk, Curd, Ghee, Gaumutr (urine) and Gobar (dung). These five cow based produces contain medicine qualities, and can cure a lot of disease, capable of making the body healthy. Using these five items alone or by blending them with herbs containing such medicine properties – we can make effective ayurvedic medicines. Method of curing disease by so is called “Panchgavya”. Like Allopathy, Homeopathy and Ayurvedic – Panchgavya is a method / procedure of keeping the body healthy and curing disease. It has been found that in the ancient Vedic scriptures (Charak Samhita & Gad Nigrah) use of Panchgavya been elaborated in making various medicines. Use of the Pannchgavya and other such cow produce items are discussed in the Ayurveda for curing disease, such as those related to digestion, ortho disorders, skin disease, diabetes, acidity, kidney related disease, respiratory system related disease, etc.

In the year 2007, it’s proven that Panchgavya was useful in curing even disease like Chikungunya. Gaumutra (cow urine) is used in making of hair oil, shampoo, lotion, etc. and the Gobar (dung) is used in making of soap, nasal spray, body powder, lotion, tooth-powder, etc.
